Colorado Fun

Hi again everyone! Sorry, no pictures yet, but hopefully we'll get some soon. Right now we're in Colorado Springs visiting Lawrence's family. We'll be here until Aug. 4th then we'll spend a few days in Utah with my family. It's been nice to get away and be able to relax some. Since we've been here the temperatures have been very nice. The first day we got here it was pretty warm, but the past few days we've been lucky to hit 70. Tomorrow it's supposed to jump back up to 80, but even that is tolerable. Lawrence has been busy helping his dad around the house with projects. They miss having Lawrence here to do all these projects, but Lawrence has enjoyed it. He's been able to spend a lot of quality time with his dad. We've had fun doing some shopping as well. I've finally been able to find some nice maternity clothes. The rain has hindered a few of our other plans, but we're still enjoying oursleves. Tomorrow we're going to go to the Denver Temple. I thought it would be agreat place to spend my birthday. Then on Saturday Lawrence's Aunt Vi is throwing my a baby shower. I'll get on later and hopfully post some pictures of our fun.

Summer Fun

I thought I'd update everyone on what the summer has brought to our lives thus far. I've been waiting for a long time for the summer to get here, so I've been enjoying every minute of it. The weather in Rexburg has been wonderful. It really hasn't gotten too hot yet and we've had tons of rain which helps to keep it cooler. I'd like to post some pictures but our camera battery is dead and we can't find the charger and the camera I ordered for Lawrence's birthday/ Father's Day/ everything present has been on back order, so I'll post some pictures as soon as I have a working camera.

So far we've been to Yellowstone and did some camping. It was a fun 5 day trip. It rained a little, but we didn't mind, except when we got completely drenched at the Norris Geyser Basin in a hail storm. It's interesting to see how that park changes with the seasons. We saw tons of cute baby animals and almost got stampeded by a herd of mother bison trying to protect the calves on the road. We love seeing mother nature and the beautiful mountains that God has created for this earth. We've also had lots of fun just enjoying the outdoors in Rexburg. We love to go to the park and throw the frisbee around and we've had quite a few picnics.

Lawrence has about a month of school left. He's enjoying most of his classes and doing very well. He's excited for his break this fall. It will be nice that he won't be in school when the baby's born. The pregnancy continues to progress pretty normally. I've got a doctor's appt. today so if there's any news I'll let you know. Most people know by now that we're naming our first son after his dad, so it will be Lawrence V. We're trying to think of a nickname that we can call him, cause that will be down right confusing to have two Lawrences. If anyone has any ideas, please let us know. This little one is a pretty active kid. He loves to kick when I'm laying down and you can actually see my stomach jump. Lawrence thinks it's quite funny. We went down to Utah this past weekend and registered at Babies R Us and we did some more shopping. We're in the process of cleaning out our extra bedroom for him so he'll actually have a room of his own.

Well, we hope everyone has a great 4th of July weekend. We're looking forward to enjoying the long weekend and relaxing some. I'll post some pictures as soon as I can.

IT'S A BOY!!!!!!

Yesterday we had our 20 week ultrasound and we found out that we're having a boy! We're very excited. I'm due October 16. Here's a peek at the little one. He's very active. During the entire ultrasound he was kicking and moving all over the place and I constantly feel him moving around. In other news.....I finished up the school year with my fifth graders last Thursday. I was very excited to be finished. I'm excited to be a stay at home mom and wife. I have all summer to get ready for our new addition. Lawrence is doing well in school. His homework keeps him busy, but we always find time for each other. We hope everyone is doing well. We'll post more pictures later as we get to enjoy the summer more.

Exciting News!!!!!!

Well, we figure it's about time we tell everyone the exciting news. Lawrence and I are expecting our first little one. I had my first ultrasound today. I'm eight weeks along and my due date is Oct. 19th. That seems so far away, but I'm sure it will go by quickly enough. We were very excited to see the heart beat. That's the only thing I was worried about, since I've already miscarried once.

Lawrence and I are very excited for this precious child of our Heavenly Father's to come into our lives. It's crazy to think that He trusts us with His children. All I know to do is my best. Right now I'm just trying to make it through the morning sickness. I feel nauseous all the time pretty much. I some how make it through the school day and then I spend most evenings in bed or on the couch. Lawrence takes very good care of me, he's a wonderful husband. I don't get why they call it morning sickness, because it sticks around all day and it's starting to bother me at night, too. A man must have named it that.

In other news......I have a little less than 3 months of school left, YAY!!!! All the teachers are starting to count down, especially me. Right now my class is reading a really funny book called The BFG and soon we'll be doing a class play. Lawrence has about 5 weeks of class left then he'll have spring break and start new classes. I just started a new class for my master's program. It will be interesting to see how that goes while I'm not feeling too well. Luckily, I can do all of that in bed on my laptop.

Spring is right around the corner. I can feel it. The feet of snow is finally starting to melt and we can see some dead grass, and mud is everywhere. The melting snow makes for an interesting recess for the kids at school. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we won't see too much more snow, but in Rexburg, ID...... who knows.

What a Busy Life!!!

I don't have any pictures of us since Christmas, but hopefully we'll take some soon. I used to take pictures all the time, but recently it just hasn't been on my mind. Anyways....I thought I'd update everyone on the happenings in our hectic lives.

I'm still extremely busy with work. My group of 5th graders keep me on my toes. We had a day off this past week because of the cold temperatures, the windchill was -32, can you believe that? It was bitter cold, but it was a nice day of rest for me. I also had a couple of days off because the common cold decided to come pay me a visit. It was a nasty one, but luckily it decided to leave once it had worn out its welcome. Right now I'm teaching my students about the Civil War, persuasive writing, and they're reading a whole assortment of books. I love reading with my students, because they get more motivated to read when I'm more involved. Every Monday morning they ask me what I read over the weekend. It helps them to know that their teacher loves to read, too. I'm already starting to count down to the last day of school, too. I'm still working on my master's degree. I'll be finishing it up this summer, YAY! I can't wait to be done. I've been able to learn a lot and I am definitely a better teacher because of it.

Lawrence started classes this semester here at BYU-I. He is really enjoying being in school and he loves to learn. Right now he's taking 16 credits; english, science, psychology, history, Book of Mormon, and a math class. It keeps hime really busy, but he's learning and growing everyday. I'm so proud of all the hard work he's putting into his education.

We love just spending time together. Right now we're into our new Nintendo Wii. We decided we were going to save the money and get one since we've both wanted one for quite a while. Lawrence is getting pretty good at Guitar Hero, considering the fact that we really only get to play on weekends. We also love our board games. We got quite a few for Christmas. My favorite is Settlers of Catan and we're working on getting the expansion packs for that. We also have one of the cool, new Monopoly's that has the credit cards. That's a lot of fun.

Well that's about all for now. I'll try to keep the camera out so I'm reminded to use it more often.

Seven Falls

Seven Falls is a beautiful waterfall in Colorado Springs. It has seven places where it falls, hence the name. For Christmas they light it up. The top of it is all frozen, but water is still running underneath it. I have pictures of what it looks like in the summer, so I'll have to find them so you guys can compare. There are stairs that go up right next to the falls and bridge at the top that leads to some hiking trails. We hiked that the summer of '07 I think.

The is the very bottom of the waterfall. You can walk right up next to. It's hard to see, but in the middle you can see where the water is still running underneath it.

This picture is part of the river after the waterfall. The ice formations are really cool.

The is is actual falls. Each of the seven place where it falls it lit up.

The lights rotated through different colors, so sometime it was all white and other times it was red and green.

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

While we were in Colorado Springs for Christmas we went to Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, a beautiful zoo. During Christmas they decorate it with lights shaped like the animals. It was a lot of fun. We got to see the lights and a few of the animals: giraffes, lions, mountain lions, huge hippos, etc.

Lawrence barely ducked out of the way right before he got boxed by a few kangaroos!
